Gutter Service

Gutter Repair in Madison

Re-pitch, re-hang, re-seal, replace damaged sections. Cheaper than full replacement when the rest of the system is still solid.

What we repair

Detached gutter being repaired and re-secured to fascia
  • Sagging or separated sections

Re-hang with new hidden hangers, re-pitch to the downspout, re-seal seams. Most sags are fixable without replacing the whole run.

  • Leaking seams and corners

The factory-cut joints at corners and outlets are where gutters leak. We strip the old sealant, clean the metal, and re-seal with gutter-grade sealant — a different product than caulk.

  • Damaged sections

Cut out dented or punctured sections (snow load, falling branches, ladder dings), splice in new seamless gutter, color-matched.

  • Fascia repair behind the gutter

When water has gotten behind the gutter and rotted the fascia, we pull the gutter, replace the rotted board, and re-hang. Common on older homes where the gutter pitch was wrong for years.

  • Downspout repairs

Re-secure loose downspouts, replace cracked elbows, snake out persistent blockages, re-route downspouts that drain too close to the foundation.

When repair stops being the right call

Side-by-side comparison of clogged and properly draining gutters

If we're patching a third leak in a 20-year-old aluminum gutter that's also sagging in two places, we'll tell you straight: replacement is the better spend. We're not going to talk you into a series of small repairs on a system that's at the end of its life. The Defender Shield's annual inspection makes this judgment easier — we have a year-over-year record of how the system is holding up.

Frequently asked questions

How much do gutter repairs cost?
Targeted repairs run $200–$600 for most Madison homes — re-pitching a section, replacing a few hangers, re-sealing a corner. Bigger repairs involving fascia replacement or section splicing run $500–$1,200. Free assessment, written estimate.
Can you repair gutters in winter?
Some repairs, yes. Sealant work needs above-freezing temperatures to cure properly, so we time those for warm spells. Hanger replacement and re-pitching can usually be done year-round on safe days.
Will the repaired section match my existing gutters?
Color-matched to the existing finish — we carry the common Madison-area trim colors and can order matches when needed. Aged gutters may show a slight color difference for the first year or two; we'll flag this at the estimate.
How long do gutter repairs last?
Five to ten years for most repairs on systems that have life left in them. We warranty workmanship for two years — if a repair we did fails earlier, we come back and re-do it.
